Student Policies and Rules
E-Device Policy Electronic devices are defined as Cell phones, iPods, Blackberries, CD players, etc. During instructional time, students may not have any E-Devices out. Instructional time includes when students leave the classroom to use the restroom or going to the library or any administration offices.
No Roam List Students are not allowed to wander out of classroom without a written pass. Students who are habitually out of class will be placed on the "No Roam" list and will not be permitted to leave class without an escort.
Tardy Policy A student is tardy to any class period during the school day if he/she arrives after the tardy bell has rung. The teacher will indicate a TARDY when taking roll and keep a record on a tardy referral notice, which will be turned in to the Assistant Principal after the third tardy, sixth tardy, ninth tardy, twelfth tardy, thirteenth tardy, fourteenth tardy, etc. The same rules apply for excused tardies as for excused absences. After the third tardy referral notice within a SEMESTER for a single class, which will total nine tardies, a student will be considered a "chronic offender" and an intervention meeting will be held with the parents, the student, and an administrator. It is strongly recommended that teachers and counselors attend the intervention meeting to demonstrate a united effort in support of the policy and of student learning. The consequences for being TARDY are as follows:
The consequence for every tardy is one half-hour detention. Failure to serve the half hour detention will result in a one hour detention assignment. Failure to serve an hour detention will result in a suspension from school for defiance.
Delivery of Messages, Flowers and/or Balloons to Students The attendance will not deliver messages to students in classrooms unless it is an absolute emergency or for a dental/doctor's appointment or court appearances. Delivery of flowers and/or balloons for students will not be delivered to classrooms during school at any time. Parents and friends will be responsible for notifying the student of any such delivery not the attendance office. Failure of notification to the student will result in the flowers and/or balloons to be picked up by the student the next day at the end of school.
PLEASE SEE YOUR PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT STUDENT RULES AND REGULATIONS.
